Church roof from the Tower showing the extent of the damage to both sides of the church

All Saints’ congregation are very much aware of the problems caused since the theft of considerable amounts of lead from the church roof over the Christmas and New Year periods.  A permanent, viable solution using a form of stainless steel (less attractive to thieves) is possible but is hugely expensive.

A relatively short term solution using roofing felt is possible but we feel we need to give the local community the opportunity to contribute to an appeal to allow the best possible option to be undertaken. Thanks to the generosity of Newton’s Printers of Barton and the kindness of Goxhill’s very own ‘Gander’ team we are able to do a ‘mail shot’ of every household in the community.

One very welcome gesture of support has come from Goxhill Primary School who are hosting a Community Cafe‘  on Friday 14th March between 9.15am and 10.45am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm.   Other events and activities to help raise money for this emergency appeal will certainly occur and details of these will be on the church website, and also on ‘Facebook
