There are probably not many in the Benefice who are unaware of the problems caused since the theft of considerable amounts of lead from All Saints’ roof over the Christmas / New Year period.

Goxhill PCC wish is to replace the stolen lead using a form of stainless steel (less attractive to thieves). This, not surprisingly, is hugely expensive.  An appeal to the local community has been launched and it will run until a ‘Gift Day’ to be held in church on Wednesday April 2nd. Already we have had some very generous donations and the PCC has every confidence that enough money will be raised to ‘steel coat’ the north aisle of the church this year.

At time of writing plans are not yet decided as there are (unsurprisingly) various protocols and consultations that must be observed before the actual practical work can begin.

All Saints Church members now have supplies of Raffle Tickets available for the roof appeal too.  We have had some very generous raffle prizes donated and Newton’s Printers have kindly printed tickets for us.  The PCC thanks all those who have contributed towards the raffle in any way.

One very welcome gesture of support has come from Goxhill Primary School who are hosting a ‘Community Cafe’  on Friday 14th March which raised a magnificent £937-00.   Other events and activities to help raise money for this emergency appeal will certainly occur and details of these will be on the church website, and also on ‘Facebook’
